“Ready Steady Tokyo” Olympic Fencing Test Event Announced

TOKYO, Japan, January 2019—The fencing test event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games has been announced. The announcement is part of the overall “Ready Steady Tokyo” Test Events schedule that includes dress-rehearsal events intended to ensure success during the actual Olympics. They are organised by international and national federations (IF/NF) as well as the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee. Out of fifty-six test events, some will be held during IF/NF sporting events, and 22 others will be organised by Tokyo 2020.

The fencing test event will be from December 13 to 15, 2019 as part of the FIE Prince Takamado Trophy Foil Fencing World Cup. It will take place at the Makuhari Messe (Hall B), one of Japan’s largest convention centers and located in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. In multiple halls, fencing, taekwondo and wrestling will be held here during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
