In 2024 he completed a master's degree in sports science from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. His thesis titled 'repeated sprint training in hypoxia induced by voluntary hypo ventilation in elite fencers' was short listed for the 2023 Swiss Olympic Sciences Award, and also received financial support from Swiss Fencing and the Swiss Olympic Association.
