When and where did you begin this sport? He began fencing at age nine.

Why this sport? He was encouraged to take up fencing by his older brothers and a neighbour who was a fencing coach. "We started because of coach Mustafa Kalender. He was our neighbour. He directed my brothers to fencing. And then I followed."

General Interest

Milestones He became the first fencer representing Turkiye to win an individual medal at the European championships when he claimed bronze in sabre at the 2023 edition of the tournament in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. One year previously he was part of the team that won Turkiye's first European championship medal by securing bronze in the men's team sabre event in Antalya, Turkiye, in 2022.
