Sport Specific Information

When and where did you begin this sport? He began fencing in 2002 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Why this sport? "My brother also practised fencing. It so happened that our parents worked with a coach in business. After school, my brother and I went to have lunch with them. The coach noticed us and offered us the chance to enrol in fencing. So we did not choose [the sport] ourselves, our father chose it for us. It was probably after [graduation from] school that I got involved in fencing professionally."
