LAUSANNE, Switzerland, July 24, 2019 — With “One Year to Go” until the beginning of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, fencers worldwide are eagerly anticipating the activities, qualifications and spirit of the Games in the months to come. At the 2019 Budapest Fencing World Championships, which ended on July 23, spirited and energized international athletes gave their “one” year signal, along with insights about what they expect for themselves, their teams, and the world as the Olympic Games draw closer.
The FIE and its 153 member federations are collaborating and sharing activities to support the many initiatives driven by the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, especially projects involving and inspiring environmental sustainability throughout the world.
