Chicago Kids Try Fencing on Olympic Day

CHICAGO, Ill., USA, June 23, 2019—Children of all ages in Chicago are learning about fencing for the first time. On Olympic Day 2019, the Junior Titans Fencing Club hosted an event for kids in the area to experience fencing. Held at a venue in the Lemont Park District, a southwestern suburb of the city, the event attracted a large and enthusiastic group of children and teenagers participating. Olympic fencer Marek P. Stepien, who fenced at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, presented the sport and coordinated a fencing demonstration with team members of the Junior Titans. The kids attending were also themselves able to try interactive fencing games and exercises.
