First cadet mixed event in Tashkent 2015

The FIE continued it¹s experimental mixed weapon team competition at the Cadet World Championships today in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The day ended with two thrilling medal matches proving that the format certainly produces drama throughout. In the bronze medal match Russia came from behind against the USA to level at 28-all at the end of regulation time. They went on to secure third place in the priority minute as Marta Martyanova (the 2014 individual Champion) scored the winning hit. The drama continued in the gold medal match as Japan came from behind against Korea taking it into another priority minute. With Rio Azuma, Japan holding priority the Korean, Jandee Mo went on the attack and scored the winning hit. The event was seen as a tremendous test of this new format.
