The 2015 European Fencing Championships will take place in Montreux, Switzerland from 5-11 June. Join us in this ideally located spot, right between the lake and the mountains.
For one week Europe’s elite fencers will be side by side with the headquarters of the International Fencing Federation in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital. The fencers will enjoy a unique and unusual setting, as the competition will take place at the Montreux Music & Convention Centre, which has hosted the renowned Montreux Jazz Festival every year since 1967.
For seven days, 400 athletes from 45 European federations will be hitting the pistesof the Stravinski Auditorium and the Miles Davis Hall, especially equipped for the event. Epee, foil and sword fencerswill fight for their country both individually and in teams.
This year’s edition will be a special one for the athletes, as it will be an important step towards qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.Furthermore, these championships will be an opportunity for Swiss fencing to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Swiss Fencing is very much looking forward to welcoming the best fencers in Europe and wishes the athletes all the very best.
