Nepal has held its second National Fencing Championships, which took place in Kathmandu at the end of December. In collaboration with the country’s National Sports Council, the event was organized by the Nepal Fencing Association and took place as part of the Nepal 7th National Games.
Held from December 28-30, 2016, the competition was inaugurated by Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Olympic Committee. Mr. Shrestha emphasized he wanted the Championships ‘to be successful, in order to promote fencing in Nepal’.
Four teams took part overall, including Central and Western Region Teams, the Nepal Army, and the APF Club. Overall, 96 fencers participated throughout the three-day competition, including individual and team events in foil, sabre, and epee.
