Njård fencing recruits new Maître d’Armes for next 5 years for elite preparation

The Board of Njård fencing, the leading Norwegian fencing club, based in Oslo, announces to have signed a 5 year contract with the French coach Frédéric Roqueta as Maître d’Armes for the next 5 years. He will start on 1. March 2015, and will have the responsibility for the clubs fencing activities, from the youngest to elite level.

Njård fencing’s board is very delighted by his arrival and believe that his work will increase likelihood that the club´s elite fencers could take the next step to top European levels in the near future. Frédéric Roqueta has been leading Fribourg fencing club with good results and has recently work for the Swiss fencing federation.

With Mr. Roqueta as new Maître d’Armes, Njård fencing is establishing a project for qualification of the club’s best fencers, in particular Fredrik Backer for the Olympics. Fredrik is one of the Nordic countries´s best fencers and will with better coaching and preparations have a realistic chance to reach top European levels.
