Invitation to the FIE International Training Camp in Hong Kong, China
The International Fencing Federation (FIE) invites athletes competing at the FIE Senior World Championships 2026 to join its International Training Camp in Hong Kong, China, from 16 to 21 July 2026.
Designed as the final preparation phase before the World Championships, the FIE training camp will bring together athletes from around the world for focused training across all three weapons. The training camp will take place at K11 Atelier King’s Road, Hong Kong, China.
Participants will be able to fine-tune their technical and tactical preparation, fence valuable bouts against international opponents and adapt early to local conditions, including the climate, time zone, training rhythm, logistics and overall competition environment.

Arriving early can make a meaningful difference. It can reduce the effects of travel, support recovery after long journeys and help athletes begin the competition physically and mentally ready. The FIE training camp will also provide an excellent opportunity for sporting and cultural exchange, further strengthening the global fencing community.
The FIE particularly encourages athletes from smaller national federations to participate. The FIE training camp will foster an atmosphere of respect, inclusion and fair play, in keeping with the values of the Olympic Movement. Hong Kong, China, will be the meeting point for the world’s fencing family, and the FIE training camp will provide an ideal lead-in to the Championships.
Training sessions will be conducted by an experienced international coaching team:
- Foil Coach: Donatella Guercia (ITA)
- Epee Coach: Xuening Xu (CHN)
- Sabre Coach: Pablo Rey Anaya (ESP)
What the FIE training camp offers:
- Daily on-piste training sessions, including structured practice and sparring;
- High-quality bouts with international opponents to sharpen decision-making and strategy; and
- Early adaptation to local conditions and the World Championship environment.
