More than 300 of the world’s top sabreurs will compete for gold this weekend at the third and final Sabre Grand Prix of the season in Incheon, Korea.
In the women’s field, Sugar Katinka Battai of Hungary enters in strong form after a standout victory two weeks ago at the Athens, Greece World Cup. She will be challenged by Alina Mikhailova of _AIN, who has enjoyed an exceptional season, capturing gold at the March World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and at the Grand Prix in Tunis, Tunisia in January.
Also among the top contenders is Japan’s top-seeded Emura Misaki, the two-time World Champion (Cairo. Egypt 2022, Milan, Italy 2023), who claimed silver medals at both the Salt Lake City, United States World Cup and the Tunis Grand Prix back in January.
On the men’s side, the spotlight will be on Georgia’s Sandro Bazadze, the reigning World Champion (Tbilisi, Georgia 2025) and current world No. 1, as he looks to return to the podium for the first time since earning his world title.
France’s Sebastien Patrice is another key name to watch. The consistent veteran has reached the podium in four of his five events this season, including a gold-medal performance at the Tunis Grand Prix in January.
