International Fencing participates in WADA Play True Day 2021

CAIRO, Egypt, April 9, 2021—The International Fencing Federation (FIE) is taking part in a worldwide celebration of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) “Play True Day”, dedicated to Clean Sport and heightening awareness among the sports world and beyond about the importance of Clean Sport. This year’s theme of “What Does Play True Mean to You” brings athletes, anti-doping organizations, sports federations, governments and others together for a common purpose of informing and educating the world of sports about issues of anti-doping.

Currently the Junior and Cadet Fencing World Championships are taking place in Cairo, Egypt, from April 3 – 11, and the FIE is sharing Play True Day with participants here as well as virtually with its global fencing family. The FIE is deeply committed to participating actively in anti-doping initiative and ensuring its athletes, events, and all stakeholders in fencing are dedicated to Clean Sport.
