Other information COACHING STINT
Between age 19 and 21 she worked as a coach at the Club of European Fencing in Kyiv, Ukraine. "I had to earn a living and I was offered a job as a coach. I worked with young children and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed introducing them to fencing, explaining what it is, playing with them, helping them develop. And then, a year-and-a-half later, I got into the senior national team, began to travel a lot to training camps and competitions, and realised that I had to make a decision. I chose to compete because I understood that I wanted to and I could. That's why I quit coaching. Some of those children with whom I worked continue to study with other coaches, there are those who entered the sports boarding school, I continue to follow everyone. If we cross paths at competitions, I always ask how things are going, I try to support and listen how I can help." (nffu.org.ua, 27 Jun 2022)
