GRUMIER Gauthier

Grumier won the gold medal in the épée team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Spain in the final. He accomplished this with his team mates Érik Boisse, Ulrich Robeiri and Fabrice Jeannet. He won the silver medal in the individual épée event at the 2010 World Fencing Championships.

Cheremisinov took up fencing when he was seven, because there was a fencing hall close to home. His first coach was Lev Koreshkov.

Cheremisinov joined the Russia national team in 2007. He attempted to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics, but his defeat in the quarter-finals of the Lisbon qualifying tournament to Romania's Virgil Sălișcan ended his hopes.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics he was defeated by Italy's Andrea Baldini in the quarter-finals of the individual event. 

In 2014 Cheremisinov won the World Championships in Kazan.

GU Bongil

Gu Bon-Gil is a South Korean fencer. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed as part of the South Korean team in the Men's team sabre, where he won a gold medal. In the individual event he was defeated in the third round. At the 2011 World Fencing Championships, he won the bronze medal, losing to Aldo Montano in the semifinal. He is the 2010 Asian Champion.

SZASZ Emese

Szász won the bronze medal at the épée 2006 World Fencing Championships after she lost 15–10 to Irina Embrich in the semi final. She competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she finished in 12th place in the individual épée event.  Szász took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London; she was eliminated in the round of 32 by Korea's Choi In-jeong.

During the 2012–13 season she took the silver in the World Cup events of Saint-Maur and Havana, being defeated each time in the final by Romania's Ana Maria Brânză. She earned a bronze medal in the 2013 European Fencing Championships in Zagreb and the 2013 World Fencing Championships in Budapest, in her home country. She finished third in the FIE world rankings.

ERRIGO Arianna

Arianna Errigo (born 6 June 1988) is an Italian foil fencer. She won a silver in women's individual foil and a gold in the women's team foil at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In the women's individual foil at the 2012 Summer Olympics she denied Valentina Vezzali of her fourth successive gold medal in the competition by defeating her 15–12 in the semi-finals. She went on to win the silver medal in the event, losing in extra time to Elisa Di Francisca. At the 2013 and 2014 World Championships, Errigo won 2 consecutive gold medals in the individual event. 

KHARLAN Olga

She holds a bronze medal from the 2012 Summer Olympics and is twice World champion (2013 and 2014) and five-times European champion. She was Olympic team champion in the 2008 Summer Olympics, twice World team champion (2009 and 2013) and twice European team champion. Kharlan was named athlete of the year at the 2009 Ukrainian Heroes of Sports Years awards. She also pursues a political career.

The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has announced a historic agreement with Euronews which will see the television news channel promote the broad scope of fencing disciplines and championships to its upmarket audience.

Under the current three-year partnership with the FIE, Euronews will feature highlights of the FIE national, regional and international events, among others.
