When and where did you begin this sport? He began fencing at age eight at primary school in Germany.

He announced his retirement from the sport after he competed at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "The Olympic Games in Tokyo were my last after London and Rio. Having graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology, politics and economics from Zeppelin University, he enrolled in a master's degree in CSR and NGO management at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg [H-BRS] in 2020.
