When and where did you begin this sport? He began fencing at age eight in Sion, Switzerland.
Why this sport? "I got involved by chance. In Sion, there is a good fencing school and when I was eight, while I was walking with my mum, I walked past the old hall. It had a large bay window and I enjoyed watching the young people fencing. The following week I went to try fencing. Before that, I did a little sport, but there was not one that I liked more than the others."

Sporting philosophy / motto "When you're young you think you're Zorro. Your only goal is to hit the other athlete. Over time, the goal doesn't change, but you have to try to be the point of your weapon all the time. It's a very complete sport, very mental and that's what I like. Mentally you have to be strong and, like in all sports, you have to be physical, you have to be explosive." (bluewin.ch, 16 Apr 2021)
