When and where did you begin this sport? She began fencing in about 2000 with the Ujpesti TE club in Budapest, Hungary.
Why this sport? She was introduced to fencing by her grandfather, and began taking the sport more seriously after watching it on television at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. "My grandfather worked for the Ujpesti TE fencing club. He wanted me to give it a try. I honestly admit, I was quite hesitant because it's not a girly sport after all - not like I'm so girly - but I thought it was very boyish. Then I went down and it was love at first sight. My grandfather had a good friendship with the sabre coach, and I began this discipline right away. It was a lucky coincidence. Later I clearly remember a thought running through my brain, 'How good it would be to compete at the Olympics?' I must have been 13 years old when it first became clear to me how good it would be to be at the Olympics."
