When and where did you begin this sport? He began fencing at age 11 in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Why this sport? "Since my uncle was the head of both the judo and the fencing boards of Yazd Province, at age 11 I followed his advice and enrolled in fencing classes to spend my free time in the summer. Even though the rest of my family was not sporty and, therefore, I was not interested in playing sports, my path had me gradually become interested in fencing, and I am still very happy with my choice."
