When and where did you begin this sport? He began fencing at school at age 10 in Tunisia.
Why this sport? He was inspired to join a fencing club after watching fictional swordsmen Zorro and The Three Musketeers on television. "The atmosphere was very competitive, which helped me to improve quickly. I was lucky to have an amazing Russian coach when I was young."

Famous relatives His sister Sondes and his twin brother Hichem have represented Tunisia in fencing. Hichem competed in individual sabre at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and claimed team sabre silver at the 2019 African Championships in Bamako, Mali, and the 2019 African Games in Sale, Morocco.
