FENCING FAMILY
Her siblings Alexandra and Axel have both represented the United States of America in fencing. Her father Steve, who captained the fencing team at Duke University, was a tough taskmaster for his children but Kiefer feels the hard work has all been worth it. "Before my sister went to college, we all went to every single practice together. It wasn't only a lot of bonding time but we all made each other better through constant practice. Of course we got sick of it, but there's a point when you know you have to keep working if you want to be good. You just can't dabble around with everything."
