In June 2021 the French Fencing Federation removed him from the team selected for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as a precaution, as he was under investigation by the French Anti-Doping Agency [AFLD] after returning an adverse analytical finding for the prohibited substance dorzolamide in November 2020. He returned to competition in November 2021. (Instagram profile, 23 Nov 2021; lequipe.fr, 18 Nov 2021, 17 Nov 2021, 18 Jun 2021; lessor.org, 19 Nov 2021)
