In January 2017 she planned to have surgery in Singapore, which doctors expected would take six months to recover from, but the operation was postponed due to funding issues. Other information | RETIREMENT AND COMEBACK She planned to retire from competition after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro because of her recurring knee injuries, and in order to begin a coaching career. However, coaches convinced her that she could compete at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia. After competing at the 2016 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, she has been awaiting funding to have surgery in Singapore.
