When and where did you begin this sport? She took up the sport as a child at the Petit-Bourg fencing club in the French overseas territory Guadeloupe, after her mother signed her up.

Why this sport? She was inspired by watching French fencer Laura Flessel-Colovic win gold in women's epee at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. "I can still see myself witnessing Laura's victory at the Olympic Games. I knew straight away that I wanted to do fencing."
