Other information COACH IMPACT
He approached coaches from the Kazakhstan fencing team about bringing in a trainer from abroad after the national epee team failed to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games. Hungarian coach Ferenc Toth was later appointed. "[Toth] then worked in Denmark, and we somehow crossed paths at a training camp. He is a great professional, a wonderful person. I suggested to our coaching staff, and they agreed to involve him. I called him and explained everything. Ferenc listened to everything with pleasure and reacted positively. He said that we had a good and a strong team. He said that he had a lot of ideas about us. In the first year, he did not get to us. But a year later he was already working with us. It may not suit some [fencers], but I am very pleased. His methodology is the European style, the European school, while ours is Soviet. He presents in completely different ways. He did not break or change anyone. He studied the statistics, the style of each [fencer]. He did it before his arrival, and then was just improving. He has made effective changes." FURTHER EDUCATION
