In 2014 she moved to the United States of America to work with coach Edward Korfanty at the Oregon Fencing Alliance. She hoped the switch would help her qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2016 she relocated to Livorno, Italy, where she works with coach Nicola Zanotti. COMPETITION SUSPENSION
She was given a black card for turning up three minutes late to her first international bout. "The hotel, the cheapest I could find, was a long way from the venue and I lost time in the commute. To be handed a black card was one of the most devastating moments of my life. My dream had turned into a nightmare. I remember sitting outside the competition hall by myself and crying for hours."
