When and where did you begin this sport? She took up foil fencing as an after school activity at age eight while her family was living in Oxford, England. She switched to epee when she returned to Canada and joined Club d'escrime Estoc de Quebec.
Why this sport? She followed her older brother into the sport. "At one point I was practising swimming, ballet, tennis and fencing. My parents asked me if I really cared about fencing, because it complicated the schedule. And I said that I wanted to continue, to do it just like my brother."
