Youth Olympic Games

Fencing was on the programme of the first Youth Olympic Games 2010 in Singapore.
78 young fencers, age 16 to 17, took part. For the first time in fencing history, team events features mixed continental teams combining all weapons, both male and female.

Three times individual Olympic Champion Valentina Vezzali (ITA, foil) was the enthusiastic fencing ambassador and took part in different activities of the Culture and Education programme.

The 2014 Youth Olympic Games are in Nanjing, China.
